Patrick Lynn Jennings
Patrick Lynn Jennings, 23, of Gurnee, Ill., died suddenly Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 from
injuries he and his mother, Clara Jennings received in an automobile accident.
Graveside services were held at Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana on Friday, Aug. 22
conducted by the Rev. D. Randall Cone, Louisiana.
Visitation was from 3 p.m., until time of services at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20 at the
Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, Libertyville.
Over 700 people were present for the visitation and funeral at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1985 in Highland Park and was raised in Gurnee for all of his life. He
was a graduate of Warren Township High School in 2003 and was in his last year in
college finishing the radiology program at the College of Lake County. During school he
held two jobs, he was an intern at Highland Park Hospital and was a supervisor at Six
Flags Great America.
Pat was a truly genuine person who cared deeply for his family and many friends. He
radiated a positive energy that was felt by everyone he knew. He enjoyed skateboarding,
riding his bike, traveling and anything new that came his way. Patrick’s life was taken too
soon and will always live on through his family and friends.
He is survived by his paternal grandmother, Betty Jennings of Louisiana; uncle Norman
Hansen and wife, Cindy of Lake Forest; aunt, Sylvia Wilson, Marietta, Ga.; aunt Lisa
Harvey and husband, Mike of Missouri; uncle Brian Jennings of Missouri; cousin, Mark
Hansen and wife, Amy of Lincolnshire, Ill., and Jon and Justin Harvey of Missouri; his two
kitties, Pippy and Gypsy and also by the love of his life, Annie Gruber of Gurnee.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Jennings who died April 3, 2008 and also
by his paternal grandfather and both maternal grandparents.
