Frank Neikirk
Funeral services for Frank Neikirk, 78, of Bowling Green, were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Mark Sheppard and the Rev. Frances
Sheppard officiated. Burial was at the Mill Creek Cemetery near Silex.
Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Neikirk died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at the Country View Nursing Home in Bowling
Green.
He was born Sept. 19, 1929, in Paynesville to Robert Andrew and Helen Love Magruder
Neikirk. He married Dorthy Naoma Marshall. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2007.
He was survived by two stepdaughters, Helen Jo Neikirk and Andrea Young, both of
Aurora, Ill.; two stepgrandsons, Joshua Williamson and Ryan Williamson; six
stepgreat-granddaughters, Kaylin Williamson, Samantha Williamson, Madisen Williamson,
Hope Williamson, Shelby Williamson and Jaden Williamson; two brothers, William Gentry
Neikirk of Eolia and David Whorton Neikirk of Clovis, N.M.; one niece, three nephews, and
numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Neikirk will be remembered as a good fellow who was always willing to help anyone. He
was a farmer all of his life, farming in southern Pike County and northern Lincoln County.
He enjoyed fishing, singing and playing his guitar.
