Charles Eugene (Gene) Privett
Charles Eugene (Gene) Privett, 77, of Silex died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at the St.
Joseph's Hospital West in Lake St. Louis.  
Funeral services were held Friday at 9 a.m., at the Silex Presbyterian Church with Curtis
Privett officiating.  Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m., at the Carson Hill Cemetery
in Mill Spring.  
Visitation was held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m., at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex.
He was born Dec. 27, 1930 in Ellsinore, the son of Lloyd Melvin and Pauline Blue Privett.  
He was united in marriage to Priscilla Joan Ballard on Jan. 24, 1950 in Ellsinore. She
preceded him in death July 28, 2008.  
Surviving are two sons, Charles Privett Jr. and wife, Peggy of Warrenton and Kevin Vance
Privett and wife, Heather of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild
and a brother, Dale Privett and wife, Mebyl of Diamond and many other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Melvin George Privett, his parents and a
sister, Lois Smith.
Mr. Privett attended the Silex Presbyterian Church with his wife, Joan.  Charles was
employed at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis for 35 years. He loved making crafts
from wood, especially bird houses.
Pallbearers were Brian Twellman, James Ballard, Gary Hilterbrand, Melvin Privett, Jim
Privett and Cecil Raymer.
