Nina Ruth Curry
Funeral services for Nina Ruth Curry, 92, of Bowling Green, formerly of Martinsburg, Ill.,
will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana with Wayne Ward
officiating. Burial will be in Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Ill.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
She died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008 one day after her 92nd birthday at Country View Nursing
Facility in Bowling Green where she had been a resident since January 2003.
She was born Aug. 2, 1916 in Pike County, Ill., to Frank and Persa DeCamp Lord. She
married Paul Curry May 8, 1937. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 1983.
Survivors include a son, Bob Curry and wife, Carol of Bowling Green; three grandsons,
Rodney Curry and wife, Lisa of Montgomery City; David Curry and wife, Tara of
Marthasville and Rick Curry and wife, belinda of Katy, Texas; one granddaughter, Dee
Ann Schlueter and husband, Bob of Eolia; nine great-grandchildren and many brothers
and sisters-in-law,  neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Lord; one sister, Beulah McCann Funk
and two nephews, Vernon Lord and Gail Lord.
Mrs. Curry had lived on the home place in Martinsburg, Ill., until moving to her son’s farm
in rural Bowling Green in December 1999 to make her home.
She attended the Church of Christ at Martinsburg, Ill., and later the Church of Christ in
Louisiana. Nina was very close to all of her family.
Pallbearers will be Ray Guthrie, Dennis McCann, Bill Curry, Cleve Curry, Kim Curry and
John Curry.
