Helen R. Vaughan
Helen R. Vaughan, 83, of Bowling Green died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling
Green. Burial will be in the St. Clement Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born March 14, 1925 in Bessville, the daughter of Willie Clay and Isabell M.
Hamlyn Ottinger. She married Floyd Vaughan on Feb. 22, 1942 in St. Charles. He
preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1994.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Vaughan and wife, Betty of O'Fallon; three daughters,
Diana Mensendick and husband, Bob, Carol Becker and husband, Tony and Lola
Vaughan, all of St. Ann; nine grandchildren, Richard Vaughan, Tony Becker, Doug
Vaughan, Sara Becker, Brendan Vaughan, Andy Becker, Kinzi Vaughan, Jeramy
Bergmann, James Bergmann and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Helen lived in St. Ann before moving to Bowling Green where she has lived for the past 30
years. She was a Girl Scout leader for 35 years and a lifelong animal lover.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Becker, Andy Becker, Sara Becker, Richard Vaughan,
Douglas Vaughan and Brendan Vaughan.
Memorials may be made to the St. Clement Cemetery Association.
